Rewarding Work Directory Solves Care-giving Dilemmas for Children with Disabilities
Inviting a new person into your home to care for you or a family member is a far more personal matter than asking someone to clean your home or do carpentry. And searching for someone to care for a vulnerable child with a disability, who has difficulty communicating, is even more daunting. Website improvements are here
Hiring a PCA is even easier thanks to recent upgrades to our online
registry. A new, preliminary search feature helps consumers quickly find workers who meet
their needs. Now you can easily find a worker who lives near you, is available the days and
hours you need, or has certain qualifications you require such as a valid driver’s license.
You can save your search and sign up for email notifications when a new worker fitting your
needs applies for a job.
Website upgrades benefit workers, as well. Job applicants may now upload resumes to provide
more detailed information to prospective employers. Workers should be sure to modify their application frequently. Your application will automatically be suspended if you do not make changes to it within 12-months.

Post a Job
Consumers and their families may now post job openings directly on our online registries for a $10 fee. Only workers registered with us will be able to respond, and your personal information remains confidential. Job applicants do not contact you directly; responses to your ad are forwarded to you through a secure mailbox system operated by Rewarding Work. Click here for more information.

Did you know about Massachusetts CORIs?
After you have identified, interviewed and checked references on a PCA and are now prepared to offer employment, did you know you can conduct a CORI on that person for free?
If you or a family member are 60-years of age or over or are "wholly or partially dependent on others to meet your daily living needs," you may request Massachusetts Criminal History Information on the worker you wish to hire. There is no fee assessed for requests submitted for this purpose. You and your prospective PCA will need to sign and notarize a request form.
Massachusetts CORIs do not provide national criminal information. Information provided covers only a person's Massachusetts criminal history. For additional information contact the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board at 617-660-4600 or download an online form.
